We will pick you up in our private minivan from your Cusco hotel at 7:00 AM. This Sacred Valley Tour from Cusco takes you through important Inca sites, traditional villages, and the varied landscapes of the Peruvian Andes. The Sacred Valley lies at lower elevations than Cusco, with the valley floor around Urubamba at approximately 2,870 m (9,416 ft).
Llama and Alpaca Farm
First, we visit a llama and alpaca farm, where you can see Andean camelids up close. You will have the opportunity to feed them, interact with them, and take pictures. The farm also offers handmade alpaca products and souvenirs.
Taray Viewpoint, Pisac and Urubamba
We then make a brief stop at the Taray viewpoint, where you can take in views of the Sacred Valley and surrounding mountains. From there, we continue to Pisac, visiting its traditional market and impressive archaeological site. We then travel to Urubamba, where you will have time for lunch at a restaurant of your choice. Lunch is not included.
Ollantaytambo Inca Fortress
Next, we visit Ollantaytambo, one of the most important Inca sites in the Sacred Valley. The town retains its original Inca street layout, stone walls, terraces, and water channels, while local residents continue to live within the historic settlement. You can walk along its narrow stone streets and see the distinctive Inca architecture.
Chinchero Village and Weaving Center
Later, our private transportation takes us toward the Andean plateau to visit Chinchero, known for its traditional textile weaving. Local weavers demonstrate techniques such as spinning, natural dyeing, and weaving, helping preserve textile traditions passed down through generations. You can also visit the Chinchero archaeological site and its colonial church.
Chinchero is also known for its Sunday market, when local people gather to trade and sell agricultural products, textiles, and other goods. The traditional exchange of products has historical roots in the region, although the modern market also includes regular commercial sales.
