Itinerary
Day 1: Rainbow Mountain Tour Itinerary
Your day begins with hotel pickup in Cusco (3,399 masl) at 7:00 a.m. From there, you travel through the South Valley for approximately two hours to Cusipata, where you stop for a buffet breakfast before continuing toward Rainbow Mountain.
After another hour on the road, you reach Phulawasipata (4,600 masl), the starting point of the hike. As you follow the trail, you pass herds of llamas and alpacas and enjoy views of the Andean highlands, including red-colored peaks, and green valleys.
After approximately 1.5 hours of hiking, you arrive at Vinicunca, also known as Rainbow Mountain (5,036 masl). Take time to admire its colorful mineral layers and capture photographs of the surrounding mountain scenery before returning along the same trail to your vehicle.
Once back in Phulawasipata, you drive to Cusipata for lunch. After the meal, you return to Cusco, where your tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel.
