Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes – Ollantaytambo – Cusco

We begin at your hotel in Cusco (3,399 masl), heading toward the Ollantaytambo train station (2,846 masl) for approximately 2 hours before boarding the train to Machu Picchu, passing farming communities and varied Andean landscapes along the way to Aguas Calientes (2,040 masl). Upon arrival, we take a 30-minute bus ride up to the citadel at 2,430 masl, where we present the entrance tickets and begin the guided tour, visiting religious centers, the Main Plaza, the Temple of the Three Windows, warehouses, and the central square, all connected by narrow stone steps and terraces cut into the mountainside. After the guided portion of the visit, we have time for lunch before boarding the return train to Ollantaytambo, followed by private transportation back to Cusco, with drop-off at your hotel or a Sacred Valley location by approximately 8:00 pm.
