Itinerary

Day 1: Private Sacred Valley Tours Itinerary

We begin with hotel pickup in Cusco (3,399 masl) at 6:45 am. First, we stop at the Taray viewpoint for photographs of the Sacred Valley. Then we continue to Pisac (2,972 masl), one of the largest Inca agricultural terrace complexes, with a traditional market famous for handicrafts. From Pisac, we continue by private vehicle to Moray (3,500 masl). Its four circular depressions probably served as an Inca agricultural experiment site. Next, we visit the Maras salt pans (3,380 masl), where families still work pools of many sizes and shapes. We then descend to Urubamba (2,871 masl) for lunch. After lunch, we continue to the Inca village of Ollantaytambo (2,846 masl), home to the Temple of the Sun and the Temple of Water. Later, we head to Chinchero (3,762 masl) for a weaving demonstration at the local textile center. Finally, we drop you off at your hotel or a downtown restaurant in Cusco.
