Itinerary

Day 1: Huchuy Qosqo Full Day Trek Itinerary

We begin in the community of Qenko (3,800 masl), about 1 hour and 30 minutes by car from Cusco. After a 30-minute walk, we reach the highest point of the day at 3,840 masl. On clear days, you can see the Sacred Valley between the surrounding mountains. From the pass, we follow a hillside trail for about an hour to Puma Marka. Here we stop for lunch and visit more Inca ruins. Then a well-preserved Inca trail leads downhill for another hour to Huchuy Qosqo (3,650 masl). Along the way, you pass farming terraces and may spot wildlife such as deer. At Huchuy Qosqo, we explore the site's irrigation channels, terraces, and homes and learn about its agricultural engineering. Afterward, we descend for about two hours to the village of Lamay (2,900 masl). There, our vehicle meets us for the return to Cusco or a Sacred Valley location.
