Itinerary

Day 1: Extended Sacred Valley Tour Itinerary

We begin the day with hotel pickup in Cusco (3,399 masl) at 6:00 am. First, we stop at the Taray viewpoint for photographs of the Sacred Valley. Then we continue to Pisac (2,972 masl), one of the largest Inca agricultural terrace complexes. Pisac also has a traditional market with a wide variety of handicrafts. From Pisac, we continue by private vehicle to Moray (3,500 masl). Its four circular depressions probably served as an Inca agricultural experiment site. Next, we visit the Maras salt pans (3,380 masl), where families still work thousands of pools of many sizes and shapes. After that, we descend toward Urubamba (2,871 masl) for lunch. We then continue to the Inca village of Ollantaytambo (2,846 masl), home to the Temple of the Sun and the Temple of Water. Later, we head to Chinchero (3,762 masl) for a weaving demonstration at the local textile center. Finally, we drop you off at your hotel or a downtown restaurant in Cusco.
