Itinerary

Day 1: Humantay Lake Tour Itinerary

We begin with hotel pickup in Cusco (3,399 masl) at 5:00 am. After a drive of about 2 hours, we stop for breakfast in the village of Mollepata (2,900 masl). Then we continue toward Soraypampa (3,900 masl), with beautiful landscapes and views of the snow-capped Salkantay mountain. At the Soraypampa trailhead, the guide gives a short briefing before we start. The hike follows a gentle path at first and then climbs for about two hours toward the lake. Along the way, you pass striking mountain views and a rich variety of plants and animals. At the lake shore (4,200 masl), steep peaks and an impressive glacier surround us. Here we relax, enjoy a snack, and take photographs. Afterward, we descend to Soraypampa and drive to Mollepata for lunch. We return to Cusco at about 6:00 to 7:00 pm.
