Day 1: Maras Moray and Chinchero Private Tour Itinerary

The Maras moray Chinchero tour​ half-day begins with a pick up from your Cusco hotel at 8:00 am. Our first stop is the Chinchero village; here you will learn how local weavers transform alpaca and sheep’s wool into fine fabrics by joining a weaving demonstration. From there, we will go to the archeological site.

After visiting this attraction, we will continue to Moray, the ancient laboratory of the Incas. This site is composed of four circular depressions on the ground, which are thought to have been used by the Incas as an agricultural experimental station.

From here, we will take a scenic drive to get to the salt mines of Maras. The salt mine shows a vast array of pans of different sizes and shapes. These pans were built on the side of a hill with salty water coming from a nearby spring and overlooking the Urubamba green valley.

This half-day tour includes transportation back to your hotel in Cusco. We can also drop you off at Ollantaytambo train station for an additional cost.
