MARAS MORAY AND CHINCHERO TOUR FULL DAY

At SACRED VALLEY TOURS, we organize the Maras Moray Chinchero tour as a half-day option for travelers who want to see three of the Sacred Valley's most distinctive sites without dedicating a full day to sightseeing. The private format ensures each site receives proper time compared to larger group bus tours.

This tour Maras Moray Chinchero begins with a weaving demonstration in Chinchero before continuing to Moray's circular terraces and concluding at the Maras salt mines, where visitors can purchase salt directly from local producers. Each stop reflects a different aspect of Inca agricultural and textile tradition.

This Maras Moray Chinchero tour suits travelers with limited time who still want a private, unhurried experience across three major Sacred Valley sites. At SACRED VALLEY TOURS, we coordinate pickup, private transportation, admission tickets, and lunch throughout the half-day excursion.

Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco – Chinchero – Moray – Maras – Cusco

We begin with hotel pickup in Cusco at 8:00 am, heading first to Chinchero (3,762 masl), where a weaving demonstration shows how local artisans transform alpaca and sheep's wool into fine fabrics, followed by a visit to the archaeological site itself. From Chinchero, we continue to Moray (3,500 masl), the ancient agricultural laboratory of the Incas, composed of four circular depressions believed to have been used to test crop adaptation across different microclimates within a single site. We then take a scenic drive to the Maras salt mines (3,380 masl), where pools of varying sizes and shapes built into the hillside continue to be fed by a nearby saline spring, before transportation back to your hotel in Cusco, with an optional drop-off at the Ollantaytambo train station available for an additional cost.
