Huchuy Qosqo Trek Full Day Itinerary

The Huchuy Qosqo Trek full day to Sacred Valley starts in the community of Tauca (12,464ft). After 1:30 hour driving from the city of Cusco.

In the morning, we have to go up to the highest point of the day (13,316ft.) which we will reach after 1.30 hrs walk. At the top, if the weather allows, we will be able to see far in the distance the Sacred Valley Mountain Range and the beautiful lakes.

After we take some pictures and enjoy the views from the top of the snow-capped mountains, we start the two hours walk down to Huchuy Qosqo Inca site. A few minutes later, you will also join one of many Inca Trail. As we are walking down, we continue enjoying awesome views of agricultural terraces and also, some examples of the local fauna like deer or good looking birds.

There is a good point nearby Huchuy Qosqo from where we can see below us the Sacred Valley. Few more minutes walking from this area, we reach the main destination of the trip, HUCHUY QOSQO!!

We are going to have plenty of time to have our pack lunch and then wander around the Inca Site, getting a great lesson to learn more about these amazing people who were able to build such an amazing place around the Andes of Perú.

Huchuy Qosqo shows a cultural example of agricultural engineering with irrigation channels, terraces, and residential area.

In the afternoon, we leave Huchuy Qosqo and descend for about two hours to the Village of Lamay. This is the place where we meet the transportation that take us back to our hotel in Cusco or the Sacred Valley located towns.
