EXTENDED SACRED VALLEY TOUR HIGHLIGHTS
CHINCHERO
A typical Inca village surrounded by colorful fields of potatoes, fava bean and quinoa. This place gives you the opportunity to experience the Inca site, colonial church and the weaving demonstration process.
MORAY
These terraced circular depressions were built by the Incas to acclimate a wide variety of crops. In other words, this was used like a greenhouse in modern times. Further, this could only happen thanks to the temperature differences created by the sun and wind.
SALT MINES
The Salt Mines are controlled by the Andean communities of Maras and Pichingoto however, the origin comes from pre-Inca times. This beautiful natural attraction displays more than 4000 saltpans thanks to the salty water spring. This is one of the few places in Peru where locals manually extract white, pink and brown salt!
OLLANTAYTAMBO
The archeological site shows extraordinary megalithic architecture and amazing urban planning system. Visit the massive Temple of the Sun, temple of the water and granaries built on the hillsides. But, the village also worth a visit because it is known as the last living Inca city.
PISAC
This is an Inca site, where you can see extensive terraced mountains with agricultural purposes. This archaeological site is even more interesting when you visit the temples, residences and the pre-Hispanic cemetery.
